Jane Okot p'Bitek Langoya is a Ugandan poet and daughter of Okot p'Bitek. A lawyer by training, she also holds an MBA. Her love for poetry began in secondary school, where she composed poetry and plays for school talent shows. Her greatest inspiration was her father, from whom she adopted the "song" style of poetry. Her poem Song of Lacica captures the cultural identity and struggles of the Acholi people against Westernisation.
