Tramaine Suubi is a multilingual writer, editor, and teacher who was born in Kampala. She earned her BA in Philosophy and French, and later earned her MFA at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. She won two fellowships during her time at the Iowa Writers' Workshop, and she is currently pursuing a PhD in Literature. Tramaine is the author of phases and stages. Both books are published by Amistad, an imprint of HarperCollins. She is also the former managing editor of Writivism, and a former reader for Callaloo Journal. She is currently serving as an assistant editor of The Weganda Review. Tramaine has published creative writing in over twenty literary magazines. Her work has been nominated for a Best of the Net award by The Cincinnati Review. Tramaine is in love with all things water.
